Setup Guide (WIP)

Game ROMs

We'll not provide the game ROMs due to legal reasons. Obtain the ROMs yourself. Staff will not assist you in obtaining the ROMs. Anyone caught sharing or distributing copyrighted game ROMs will be banned permanently and will be held liable.

TeknoParrot and online mods

In order to play this server, please DO NOT USE VANILLA TEKNOPARROT! Or else, online functionality will not work and will require you to be stuck on TP's save paywall. Use Project Asakura's TeknoParrot mod instead

Steps

These steps are derived from Project Asakura's guide. We would also like to thank them for their contribution.

Download the mod in this link. (click me)
Extract the ZIP file.
Launch TeknoParrotUI.exe as administrator
Hop over to Game Settings and set the Game Executable to the path where you extracted the game ROM. Usually, this would be wmmt6r.exe
Set the Input API to your preferred input method. If you are using a steering wheel or a keyboard, select DirectInput. Otherwise, if you are using a controller (e.g. Xbox controller or DualShock/DualSense), choose XInput.
If you are using a keyboard, make sure to tick Use Keyboard/Button for Axis
Set NetworkAdapterIP to your local IP address. You can have a look at your IP address by running ipconfig
If you're happy with the settings, click Save Settings.
If you need to access the Wangan Terminal, go back to Game Settings and check TerminalMode. To drive, uncheck TerminalMode

After setting up via Game Settings, you can now hop onto Controller Setup.

In order to navigate to the Test Menu, you must bind Test, Test Menu Up, Test Menu Down, and Enter Switch
For gameplay, you must bind Wheel Axis, Gas, Brake, Gear Shift Up, Gear Shift Down, Perspective Switch, Interrupt
Gear Shift 1-6 are optional, bind these if you have an H-shifter
Service and Coin are not necessary, so you can skip that

Hosts

In order to join in the server, open any text editor as administrator. Go over to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts and add the following line:

3.112.81.252 naominet.jp
3.112.81.252 wangan.network

Only after saving the hosts file will you be able to connect to the server. To check, click Launch Game, check AMAuth.exe window. Server URI should be https://wangan.zeankun.dev:9002

Final steps

After that's done, you can launch the game. But there are a few more things required before you can enjoy the server.

Press your Test Switch key, navigate to Game Options and turn these settings as shown

IC Card R/W Use: ON
IC Card Vendor Use: ON
Steering Power: OFF

After that, you are all set and you can now enjoy the game and this server. Congrats! 🎉

Notes and extras

On the game directory, you will see a file named card.ini. DO NOT SHARE THIS FILE WITH ANYONE, AS IT'S EQUIVALENT TO SHARING YOUR BANAPASSPORT TO AN UNKNOWN STRANGER!
